Medical

We perform a variety of services for communities throughout Liberia. We build wells for clean water, send containers of medical supplies for use in local clinics by local medical staff.

United States medical teams receive sponsorship from WACL in order to provide services throughout rural villages. The medical teams evaluate the medical needs of women and children, performing initial physicals, providing medications and performing minor surgeries as needed. Patients are then referred to local doctors for follow up care. Your donations are used to support these services.

In addition to medical supplies we provide generators and building supplies for the local clinics. WACL promotes continuous building of new clinics by funding building supplies.

Education

WACL knows that the way to bring growth and development to Liberia is through the education of Liberia's children. Integral to this are basic classroom supplies, textbooks training for teachers. WACL funds organizing the repair and rebuilding of schools throughout the country.

Education

Along with teacher training in academic strategies, we have found that it is essential for teachers to be trained to recognize Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. They can then assist both the children and their families in recovery.

West African Children's Lifeline's Bookbag Program provides each child with pencils, notebooks, paper, crayons, markers, rulers, calculators and general supplies to get them through the school year. With this program we encourage local schools to participate in and continue to maintain the Bookbag Program.
